Purpose: This event serves as a crucial platform for internNE employers to meet and interact with students who have registered and been selected for candidate screening sessions. These events are strategically scheduled to follow the day after existing career fairs, offering students the opportunity to engage with internNE employers the day before the fair to gauge their interest in participating. Target Audience internNE employers and students who are candidates for internship opportunities. Event Prep Timeframe 1 month for event promotion to internNE employers and students Time Commitment The Interview Day event spans the entire day, divided into two sessions: 8 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 4 pm with box lunches for employers provided between 11a - 1p and breakfast items for participating employers available early in the day. Space Requirements The capacity of the event largely depends on room availability and the number of participating students and employers, but should include tables for two employer representatives to meet with a student for up to 1-hour each. Tables should be spaced far enough apart for neighboring conversations to not be distracting. There should be a separate room for snacks and lunch items for employers. Host Responsibilities Confirm the dates for both spring and fall career fairs, secure space based on listed requirements. Setup the registration processes for both employers and students (with Handshake as a potential tool for this purpose). A host representative should be onsite during this event to support employers and students. Aksarben Responsibilities Aksarben is tasked with sharing the list of internNE employers with the host so that the host can invite employers to the career fair and the subsequent Interview Day session. Responsible for booking and covering catering costs and conducting post-event follow-up with employers. Requirements for Both Both the host and Aksarben should actively promote the event through their respective social media channels and email lists. Target Audience Students who are candidates for internship opportunities. Event Prep Timeframe 2 months for event registration setup, speaker recruitment, and event promotion for maximum participation. Space Requirements A room equipped with a projector screen to display sponsor logos and employer headshots in a rolling slideshow. An ideal setting would be a large gathering room or auditorium with space for panelists and a stage. Microphones are essential for four panelists, a moderator, and audience participation during the Q&A session. Additionally, an area outside the room for pre- and post-event networking is highly desirable. The room should also be set up to record and stream the panel discussion, allowing for statewide access and future use. Structured Panel Event Agenda (1-hour) The event follows a structured agenda, starting with welcomes and overviews from both the host and Aksarben. The panel discussion features introductions and discussions with panelists, followed by a live Q&A session with the audience. Host Responsibilities Securing a suitable room on campus. They should also communicate any parking requirements and share their logo with the Aksarben team for sponsorship recognition. Additionally, the host is encouraged to share event details with students.
