The History of internNE

Before its 2023 transformation, the Intern Nebraska Grant Program (internNE) connected students with internships in key sectors, fostering local talent development and bridging the gap between education and Nebraska's evolving workforce, laying the groundwork for its future expansion and success.

The Aksarben Foundation

Established in 1895, Aksarben is a unified network of business and community leaders committed to preserving and expanding prosperity in our heartland communities through advancements in education, workplace development and civic projects born from effective private, public, and philanthropic partnerships.


Department of Economic Development

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has been pivotal in deploying the internNE Grant, effectively connecting students with career-building internships and driving statewide workforce development through strategic partnerships and financial support for both educational and business communities.
